Setup Windows Live Mail
Mail Server Username: yourname@yourdomain.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (server requires authentication) port 25
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)
You may need this information later when configuring Live Mail.
- Go to Mail under Shortcuts in Windows Live Mail.
- Click Add an e‐mail account at the bottom of the list.
- Type your e‐mail address under E‐mail address:.
- Type your password under Password:.
- Enter your name under Display Name:.
- Your Login ID is the username in the paragraph from above.
- Type your password if it asks you for a password.
- Make sure that Manually configure server settings for e‐mail account. is checked.
- Click Next.
- Make sure IMAP is selected under My incoming mail server is a ___ server.
- Enter the incoming mail server name from above into the Incoming Server spot.
- Type the outgoing mail server name from above in the Outgoing Server spot.
- The paragraph below says that the server requires authentication. However some mail
programs are a bit iffy on this. Go ahead and select “My outgoing server requires authentication.” You can always change it later.
- The port is shown in the paragraph above. Enter it in “Port: under Outgoing Server Information.”
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Click OK
That should have correctly configured your Windows Live Mail program.
